*whew!* What a weekend we had!

Last weekend, in addition to our regular Hawaii Kai Farmers’ Market, we decided to start a new Farmers’ Market at Kailua Elementary, PLUS participate in the Honolulu Gift Fair.  Not to mention Chris and I were off island for a few days to attend a former colleague’s Wedding in California.  That means poor Tasha was at home doing most of the baking.  And it wasn’t just regular baking, it was special Easter treats baking!!  This weekend was probably the biggest challenge we’ve taken on since we took on Hawai`i Doggie Bakery and I’m proud to say that we did it with great success!

The Honolulu Gift Fair, as you may have heard from the news, was quite slow – especially on Friday.  We were pleased to see that on Saturday and Sunday things picked up, for us at least.  Some vendors were not as lucky, but we all tried to keep each others’ spirits up as the weekend went on.  We were very excited to meet some Hawai`i Doggie Bakery customers who hadn’t heard that my sister and I were new owners.  These people we talked to were wondering where the shop went, so it was so good to see them!  We also got to meet some friends who have been wanting to come out but Hawaii Kai Farmers’ Market just wasn’t convenient for them.  So even if the Honolulu Gift Fair wasn’t as busy as we expected, we felt the connections we made were invaluable, and we’re glad we did it!

At the same time on Saturday, we also were at our regular Hawaii Kai location as well as the new Kailua Elementary Farmers’ Market.  We have always heard that Kailua is dog friendly, but BOY we didn’t realize just how dog-friendly it is!  We saw so many dogs; many that we knew and new furry friends as well!  At one point, there was quite a spectacle at our tent with Ms. Hokulani in her pink Easter bunny outfit and then again when Kuma Carlos Chan, former Hawaii Pet Magazine Cover Model came to visit.

Unfortunately with everything that was going on, we don’t have that many photos to share, but we promise that this weekend we’ll have photos from Kailua Elementary Farmers’ Market!

How did you all spend your Easter weekend?  Hope you had fun, and lots of Easter noms!
